Entesitis del Tendón Calcáneo en el Examen Físico Lleva a Desenlaces Peores Después de 2 Años de Seguimiento en Pacientes con Espondilitis Anquilosante del Registro REGISPONSER-AS

The results highlighted the long-term impact of the presence of Achilles enthesitis on the burden of disease. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the impact of Achilles' tendon enthesitis found at baseline during physical examination on the outcome measures after 2 years of follow-up in patients with AS.

This study confirms the relevance of Achilles enthesitis in patients presenting with AS, as this is associated with worse outcome measure scores after two years of follow-up and a reduced probability of achieving LDA. This emphasises the importance of a systematic, iterative check for this clinical feature during patient monitoring.
