Safety of synthetic and biological DMARDs: a systematic literature review informing the 2022 update of the EULAR recommendations for the management of rheumatoid arthritis

Sepriano, et al. provide results of a systematic literature review (SLR) on the safety of synthetic and biological DMARDs, to inform the 2022 update of the EULAR recommendations for the management of rheumatoid arthritis.

Since the 2019 EULAR recommendations for the management of RA, new evidence has emerged on the safety of synthetic and biological DMARDs in RA. This systematic literature review (SLR) updates the evidence for the safety of csDMARDs, bDMARDs and tsDMARDs in patients with RA and, alongside SLRs on efficacy and glucocorticoids, informs the task force responsible for the 2022 update of the EULAR RA management recommendations.
